hphmm..it's alr the last day of my holidays...*sob*

sum ching has been quite down for the past few days aft coming back from gold coast..was it "post-hol blue"? *bleh* semangat-less + loss of appetite + wu suo shi shi...=p arghhh~~~

everything was just not right..i didnt know wat to do but i didnt feel like doing anything either...hphmmm~~

anyway i really enjoyed my gold coast trip..really like the beautiful beaches..^^ more posts on the trip next time coz the leng leng photos r all wif the gals...heh..=p


a new block starting tmr..for the next 6 weeks i ll be doing my rotation at Northern Hosp, n not Austin...which means that we hav to travel further everyday...bout 35 min drive from my current lodging...it's going to be cardiorespi block where i ll deal with heartss n lungsss..

lets look forward to it pa..=p

it's good friday n my easter break has finally started..a 10-day holdays including a 5-day trip to Gold Coast..*yay!!* am off to gold coast tmr morn..to be with the beautiful beaches & warm sunshine...XD

another friday nite

it's fri nite!!!

altho i was really exhausted after a long day of tutes n lec(classes ended at 5pm today)..it didnt stop me from going out...just didnt feel like staying at home on fri nite - esp in this super hot weather..hee...XD

went to DFO again wif cyew n lichia..i thk DFO is like my 1U in melbourne..hehe.."my second home"..=p

had dinner at this never-been-before-japanese restaurant Ishikai after tat - we just wanted to b more "adventurous"..heehee..=p

my main course - black sesame machi & fruits wif black sesame ice-cream

heart-shaped waffles..the ice-cream was good!! ^^

went to moomba festival in the city last saturday..

i m actually not vy sure what kind of festival it's..n hav no idea what we r celebrating..hee...anyway it's sth like a combination of amusement park + fun fair + carnival...n it gives us a vy good excuse to go out n hav fun with frens!! ^^

there r all sorts of rides n roller coasters..you name it & they hav it..XD

i hav had a long weekend as monday was a public hol i.e. labour day...went shopping wif mei n ming on fri nite - got myself 2 dresses *yoo~hoo~* XD.. moomba nite n stayed over at mei's place on sat nite - xiang yi wei ming again =p..n then was at yin che's hse for dinner on sun...a happy weekend!! ^^

ortho derm plastic & anaes

it's alr week 4 into my orthopaedics, dermatology, plastic surgery n anaesthetics block..

wat hav i learnt??

we hav got quite a number of clinics n topic sessions with very few ward tutes..


we had a professional develpoment tute on "Health Promotion" last week..one of the questions asked was whether we hav changed any factors in our own lifestyle since becoming a medical student...

i guess my answer is "yes?!"...=p

for instance..few days ago i deliberately stopped by safeway supermarket just to buy myself a sunscreen lotion..after being drummed into my head the high prevalence of skin cancers in australia...(australia has the HIGHEST incidence of skin cancers in the WORLD eh...XD) i spent a good 10mins in front of the aisle looking for a high SPF, non-greasy & high protection sunscreen n finally i got myself a spray lotion..hee...cyew tried to convince me that we, Asians, being dark-skinned r not tat likely in getting a skin cancer..but & anyway..i m going to protect n treat my skin well..hehe...=p


we hav only had 1 tute on anaesthetics so far..learning how to put ppl into sleep..hee...it sounds quite interesting..(but it has also got a high suicidal rate among all specialisations..=p)


ortho has been quite interesting..most of the orthopaedic surgeons r really nice..n rich..(they drive BMW n sports car..XD) they deal with bones n heavy stuffs all the times..a guy's job..hehe...they even said tat a gal who does ortho is either in the wrong place or in the wrong body..hee...*gao xiao* sexism~~ =p


another 2 n a half weeks with skin n bones..hphmmm.....
