fifth day home..

n after 3 days of elective at UMMC(formerly known as UH)...

was again totally amazed by the msian system -- the way the ppl work n how efficient they r..actually not unfamiliar with it..this sort of things is a norm in government departments e.g. when making IC or passport *grrrr* this time at UM, we spent 3 days just to b registered..waited for a day for a signature from the dean's office; another day mererly for a registration number; another day to hav our photos submitted n it takes another week before we can actually get our student ID *gou li* n all these hav to b done at 3 different departments at 3 different buildings which r all not "walkable" from the faculty of medicine..really frustrating...:S

heard tat elective at UMMC is actually quite slack, n i m not complaining..heh..hopefully i dun hav to go everyday or just half-day..hehe..am currently attached to the respiratory team under the supervision of Prof YK Pang -- hope tat the ppl r nice n friendly too..=p

anyway,
it's still good to b home -- family n frens, yummy food n more to come..:)
oh, the only thing is tat my hotlink account got disconnected *arrhhh* so mah fan..coz i forgot to top up my account for more than 3 months..am awaiting my new number to b activated -- 012-9830919..*fast fast* :)

but ll definitely miss the "salt n chilli chicken with rice"(yummm...) from Rose Garden -- our vy popular place for lunch after the study group..we definitely deserve sth good n rewarding after all the hard work the whole morning..heh..=p

exam update

two down..n two more to go...

am finally done with the paeds exam..
OSCE was not vy well done esp when i had to start with the most difficult station -- eye station..i hav never done or practised any eye test before n i forgot to interact with the kid..i guess the examiner tried to help by prompting me but i just didnt hav a clue...enough! dun wan to talk bout OSCE anymore! :(
written exam was this aftnoon..hmmmmm..dunno how to say..nine questions in total; one question on ethics n another one on perioperative management...those r not-so-textbook de questions n basically we hav to use some common sense...for instance, a 13yr-old kid with end-stage cancer, parents wan to continue treatment but the kid refuses treatment, so is the kid competent in making decision..who should u listen to...another example, parents may refuse a treatment due to religious purpose(e.g. Jehovah's witness), but a kid might not understand wat a religion is, so wat should u do...vy debatable n interesting..n that is wat ethics is bout, but not-so-interesting when it comes to exam...=p

ll hav women's written exam n OSCE tmr n on friday..am not as stressed as before d..but for now hav to memorise 120 questions n sample answers in order to pass the written exam tmr...feel that my brain is so saturated right now...we used to b able to memorise the whole sejarah textbook for SPM -- how did we manage to do tat...but now old d n brain capacity getting smaller...aihh...**120题煲成一碗水，翻渣再翻渣，再饮佐巨，搞掂！** =p

since i m less stressed, i m getting more excited bout going home tooo..heh..it's less than a week now..hohoho...got a call from home this evening n it's always so warm to hear some updates, whether it's trivial onot..e.g. yee belanja-ing dinner tonite..teasing bout my hse vs san's hse..mommy needs to top up more $$$ in the "shen tai" drawer..san refused to take oreo in..etc...*laughs*

hphmm..just drank nescafe+milo -- nescafe doesnt really work for me act..another "bok sat" nite..*harkkkkkk!!* (dear said he is going to teman me study..lets just wait n see..=p)

pre-exam stress

coming to the end of women's n children's health rotations..another semester gone...it's a rather major semester..sth a bit different from the general medical n surgical stuff..i quite like O&G but cant see myself doing paeds -- not tat i cant stand the kids or i dun like them.."you yuan wu fen" pa..=p some say paeds is bout working in a happy environment; while some say do paeds if u dun like to talk to the patients coz u ll b dealing with the parents instead(which i thk is more challenging n stressful lo..)..however all paed ppl whom i hav met r all really nice ppl...anyway in a nutshell, as the saying goes: 唯"小人"与女子难养也..so wise...=p

enough of retrospect n coming back to the cruel reality, exam is just ard the corner..*thunder n lightning* i.e. this friday till next friday..**more thunder n lightning**

n i know i hav said this many many times n so many times tat ppl oso become sien n angry of reading this..BUT i really cant wait to finish exam..cant wait to go home..n cant wait to relax n enjoy my holss(pls forgive my sien-ness..) n i oso hav got this little to-do list of mine -- sth vital to keep me going with my study..*hark* am not going to list down every single thing..the list is basically similar for every year la..heh..it comes with a to-eat list n a to-shop list as well btw...
