Monopoly aka "millionaire"(literal translation from 百万富翁)
it's one of my favourite board games..esp during my childhood years..the one we hav at home is the Hong Kong version thus it has got places like "chim tsa tsui", "sha tin train station", victoria peak etc (compared to pall mall, king's cross station, park lane n mayfair in the UK edition)... the game begins with us choosing our own lucky tokens..n the first round is always the redundant part as we r not allowed to buy any land...our adrenaline starts to rise when we needs to flip over a "Chance" or "Fate" card -- winning second prize in a beauty contest, receiving scholarship, having to pay insurance fees or the most dreaded one "Go to jail!!!!" XD ...the game would not b complete without buying red hses or green buildings(4 hses=1 big building) plus the satisfaction when someone trepasses on your land..*ngek*
when i was in my high school/uni years, my board game has been upgraded to the computer version --
Rich4 (a variant of Monopoly) it has got even more interesting features in it..there was once where i spent six hrs in front of the comp trying to bankrupt the computer..hehe...
some factss...Monopoly was patented by Charles Darrow in 1933 n since then approximately 750 million ppl hav played the game..in 103 countries n 37 languages...the game's official mascot is Rich Uncle Pennybags who later appeared on the second 'O' in the word Monopoly as part of the logo...
it has got different editions as well...^^
