yesterday & today
my precious 2 days off - after 2 whole weeks in bendigo.
woke up at 7.40am yesterday morning n "7 early 8 early" drove down to melb - probably still half awake n half asleep.:p finally reached home after a 2-hour drive. watched a few episodes of kang xi n two episodes of "P.S. Man" - fully utilising the broadband internet at home altho our line was really not stable - kept disconnecting itself. but couldnt complain la.
after convinced that i have had enough rest, decided to drive to city for more fun.:p went shopping at DFO n smith street - a very happy way to spend my money. havent shopped for almost two weeks now - a pretty good record for myself, but cant tahan anymore. hehe. shopping is the most effective way to de-stress. no doubt.:p
dinner with yee n shuang at stuzzi. this is a so-hsemate-thing to do. we miss u yin che.

had brunch with my hsemates n chungyew today - we went yum cha at golden leaf "kam fui" restaurant.:p it reminded me of "da gu". i like yum cha. my favourite dim sum today were "wu kok" n egg tart. "lao sha pao" was nice too. :) we will try Plumes next time, with cyew's 25% discount voucher.heh.

did some grocery at Coles. n going to spend the rest of the afternoon doing nothing or online-ing. i think i ll never get sick of online-ing. heh. going back to bendigo tonight. *sien* pls look forward to my next homecoming. yay.
this concludes my life in two days.
it's april - the month of dear's bday.
Happy Birthday dear!! i miss u! *love*

TNH med1 to bendigo ED
it's officially the end of my first intern rotation.
med 1 dinner @kura.
it's time to move onto the next rotation i.e. ED in bendigo - i m not so looking forward to it to be honest. ED used to be my favourite rotation as a medical student but ED in bendigo...hmm... i enjoy the variety in ED; i like procedures; but i m going out of my comfort zone to work in an unfamiliar environment.
going to b in bendigo for the next two n a half months. with slow n limited dial-up broadband internet. in a shared accommodation with marianne n another two gals whose names i hav never heard of before. n being 2 hour drive away from melbourne.
anyway hopefully it's going to b a good rotation.
got to start packing already..
i miss daddy. i miss mummy. i miss dear.

coming to the last week of my first rotation.
i have been enjoying work so far - lots of things to learn. i think it's a very fulfilling job, most of the times. but lets face the reality - interns are at the bottom of the hierarchy so u have to b "used" sometimes, as long as not in an abusive way. but i like my team n i like my rotation. i m going to miss gen med.
wishing for a good ED rotation in bendigo. yee n shuang, must come visit me k. u two are going to miss me badly. poor thing. :)
re-started my bikram yoga classes recently. i was severely exercise-deprived. n growing fatter n fatter d. i dont want to b like yee n shuang - 2 little piggiess. got to start adjusting my eating habit n b more health conscious. not to forget my every year's resolution - to lose weight.
it's san che's wedding this weekend. hope u had a great time n more happiness to come. also, hope u ll like our little present. cheers!

moviess
watched 4 movies this holiday. :)
Bodyguards n Assassins.
i thought it's a very meaningful movie - how the 5 ordinary bodyguards protected Sun Yat-Sen and the recognition of their important role in the revolution of 1911. the bodyguards sacrificed themselves one by one without even knowing who they r protecting. i cried at the end when the son was brutally murdered by the assassin. i felt sad for the father - it's a dilemma btw ur son vs ur country. btw nicholas tse acted well n donnie yen fighted beautifully. not to miss leon lai's funny n ridiculous hairstyle. :p
My rating: i like! watch it!
Avatar.
another blockbuster directed by James Cameron since "Titanic". dear claimed it's the best movie he has ever watched in 2009. hmmm..i think it's a good movie but not the best for me. hehe. i like the story. the graphic. the Na'vi ppl n their culture. but i thought the ending was a bit too fairy-tale-ish - it would b more realistic n complete if the main actor died. n the newspapers has also commented that the movie has a lot of similarities to the studio ghibli collections e.g. princess mononoke, laputa n valley of the wind. but no doubt it's a successful movie.
My rating: good. interesting. hav to give face to Titanic n u dun wan to b outdated.
Sherlock Holmes.
one of my favourite characters of all times - a very smart n talented detective. i used to listen to the cassette n read his story when i was much younger. scary but interesting - how he solved all the mysteries. so i have already liked this movie even before i watched it. :p n dunno why this movie reminded me of harry potter movie. heh.
My rating: not bad. didnt regret.
Treasure Hunter.
eric tsang was funny - "you no good! you no good!" :p dao-ming chen was good. chiling lin was pretty. n that's all. nothing else but a lot of "lebih" ppl. a weak plot n a lot of things were not explained properly. leaving gaps here n there with no climax. the mission seemed easy as well- one minute they were outside in the dessert n the next minute they were already inside the lost city, with no difficulties. i think i totally missed the whole point of the movie. if there's one.
My rating: you no good! you no good!
wan to watch:
The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.
14 Blades.

happy reading!
have been trying to do some reading..
was previously reading
"P.S. I Love You" by Cecelia Ahern. was initially attracted by the book title but unfortunately later i thought the book itself wasnt as impressing n touching. n the story line was at times repetitive. i literally had to drag myself to the front of the book to finish the whole story n that took me a good few months. :p i know it's like the end of the world when ur loved one leaves u. forever. but mayb i m just not mature enough to understand how hard it is.

have just finished
"My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. this time i was attracted by the synopsis. it's a very debatable issue. it's ethics. honestly i was moved by the love between the two sisters. halfway through the story i was asking myself what i will do if i were one of them - i dont know. n sometimes i dislike the mother for being so "pian xin" but what will u do when one of ur daughters was dying n the only hope lied on the other daughter - it's not easy. i kind of like the twist towards the end but then the ending was also a bit too dramatic. read it.
My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life… even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less?
currently reading
"一统天下--秦始皇". something different. :p but i thought i would like to understand more bout the ancient Chinese history. my knowledge of ShiHuangTi all came from HK TVB drama. hee. n i thought some of the facts might b fictitious. anyway it's an interesting book.
