another weekend.

attended the seminar "Meeting of the Minds" in Creswick on saturday. it's actually a series of mini lectures on common diseases, presented by Austin doctors n they were targetting the general practitioners..doctors act had to pay $100 per pax but it's totally free for us the medical students *yay* including free buffet lunch(wit desserts!!) n heaps of freebies by the drug companies e.g. pens, sticky pads, highlighter, paper clips etc..the greatest fun of being a medical student is to grab as much freebies as we can..heehee..no doubt tat the lecs were relevant n useful though..however the 2 hour bus trip was quite sam fu, esp for someone who unfortunately ll wan che long like me..anyway a good way of spending my saturday..:)

how's everyone's Earth Hour? mine was delayed to 9.15pm due to a late dinner..it was a small challenge to restrain myself from turning on the light when i couldnt find the candles in the dark n became a bit mang -- plus my hp's battery died off at tat point..:p anyway shuang n i ended up lying in bed doing nth(oreo sitting at the bedside), with the company of two little candles..lets learn to b nice to the Earth~~

2nd day of RAPP - rehab care, aged care, palliative care n psychiatry of old age..
going to deal with n look after older ppl for the next 6 weeks..not paticularly looking forward to it, but i dun hate it as well..just another rotation to me..

had a talk bout Ageism on the introduction day..here r some risk factors for being ageist -- young, male, no interest in aged care and no social contact with well ppl above 65yo..i thk it's interesting..ageism is sth a bit different from other -isms e.g. sexism n racism..coz u dun belong to the other group that u hate or discriminate e.g. gal vs boy or chinese vs malay vs indian...but unlike for ageism, u ll gradually grow old n become someone whom u initially(or still) hav prejudice on i.e. an elderly..vy ironic..

trying to instill some positive attitudes towards older ppl in myself..:)

just had a long weekend.due to labour day on monday. in aus, labour day actually falls on different day in different states.so monday was a victorian labour day..

it was a pretty busy weekend. did a lot of shopping -- food shopping, lap lap zap zap de shopping n "real" shopping..on saturday, travelled all the way to Bunnings with shuang to get a replacement of fluorescent tube for my table lamp. also spent bout an hour to help shuang choose the most suitable toolbox for her dental equipments -- we really need to b more efficient the next time..did some marketing on the way home.n finally shuang managed to get a laser printer at Officework..

it's the annual Moomba Waterfest again. same place, same company, but without mei n ming this year..even the fireworks looked the same..:p moomba's fireworks r really beautiful, n romantic i thk. n i hav always tot that fireworks r meant for couples.hee. :p

had a wu liao sunday.did some research on internship application stuff. stressed~~ there r so many things to thk bout n do. my current concern is to get 3 referees who r nice enough to give me good reference..apparently we also need a personal referee -- anyone interested? :p

another shopping day on monday, this time with yin che. went to bridge road, smith street n brunswick street -- all shopping places. but sadly i didnt get anything except for two bottles of body lotion from body shop. i wan to buy boots. i wan to buy dresses for yin che's wedding. :) had dinner at Little Creatures dining hall with che n shuang later that night. a very aussie-feel place for ppl to have some beer n chill out..btw, the smoked kransky n potato with rosemary pizza were really delicious..

currently doing my psychiatry rotation. psych is a bit different from those medical or surgical rotations. it's vy clinical-based n u cant order an investigation to diagnose it. one's mind n thoughts can b vy powerful sometimes.

looking forward to easter break. looking forward to going home..*yea* :)

在melb的一天，一个不那么平凡的一天。。

今天是“搬房”的日子。。在melb的两年里，总共搬迁了三次，住过四间房间。。好像有一点漂浮不定的感觉。。我没有当游牧民族的志愿，可是我也不排斥变化。。
从大房到中房、到小房、再到与人“共处一室”，现在要学习当一个好室友了。。：p 对于即将与莹che及玮双展开的同居生活，我想抱着期待的心情。。


他们说人心是世界上最恐怖的东西。我开始相信，也开始了解了，虽然我宁愿活在我那单纯的假象世界里。。人心是复杂的，也是变化莫测的，而感情世界更是脆弱的。。它可以令你有幸福的感觉，也往往可以把你伤得体无完肤。。我想相信人心，可是我已不抱任何希望了。。。

人，也可以很自私的。伤害了所有人，背叛了所有人，只为了追求自己想要的。。当初所坚持的信念，现在都成了空谈；谁晓得现在所谓的“梦想”，不会成为以后的笑话呢。。我深深相信因果。。。

愿我学会平常心的道理；愿我学会知福、惜福、造福。。。

day 4 back in melb..

a lot of things hav been happening in the past few days..
confused.
scared.
lost.

things that r done cannot b undone. pls b responsible.

scary things happen..sometimes..
nightmare become reality..sometimes..
ppl changes..sometimes..
things r never the same again..sometimes..
we can forgive, but we cant forget..sometimes.....

a lot of thoughts running in my small little brain...
however,
a tiny little space in my brain
wishes n prays for peace in my beloved oness...

everyone has been talking bout solaris these days..
n here i come..:)

had dinner at Ole-ole Bali@Solaris with dear n yee..from the name u can tell it's a balinese restaurant..n ole-ole actually means "gifts" in balinese (i thk it's similar to "oleh-oleh" in malay)...

a combination of BBQ chicken wings, sate lilit n cumi-cumi(squid) goreng, with two types of special sambals(?terasi ?malek) n tartar sauce..
i like cumi-cumi goreng n sate lilit :)

rice with grilled fish fillet, lemongrass prawns n squids..vy strong de BBQ taste..:p

btw, the plain water served there has got a mild barley taste..

这晚也和fren们去了天后宫拜拜。。:)
